PokéPark KANTO begins staff recruitment ahead of 2026 opening

The recruitment process for staff at the upcoming “PokéPark KANTO” theme park has officially begun.
This marks a major step forward in the development of the world’s first permanent, outdoor Pokémon-themed facility, following its announcement during a “Pokémon Presents” broadcast earlier this week.

The park is currently being constructed within a 2.6-hectare section of the grounds of the Yomiuriland amusement park.

It will consist of two main zones: “Kayatsuri Town,” a bustling area where trainers and Pokémon can gather, and the adjacent “Pokémon Forest,” an immersive environment where visitors can observe Pokémon in a more natural habitat.

A special recruitment website has been launched, seeking applicants for a wide variety of roles within the new park.
Two primary tiers of employment are being offered.
General “Staff” positions are available for those who can work a minimum of two days a week, with no prior experience required.

Supervisory “Leader Staff” positions are also available, which require a commitment of at least four days a week and are aimed at applicants with relevant experience.
The application process for the general staff positions requires no resume and only a web-based interview.
Applicants for the leader positions will need to submit a video application and attend a second, in-person interview.

Training for the leader staff is scheduled to begin sequentially from October of this year.
A wide range of job categories have been listed, including roles in the park’s shops, food wagons, kitchens, and at the main entrance.
Other positions include “Area Guides” and “Entertainment Operators.”

A uniquely themed role, the “Forest Ranger,” has also been created, which will likely involve guiding and assisting guests within the immersive Pokémon Forest zone.

“PokéPark KANTO” is scheduled for its grand opening in the spring of 2026, with tickets set to go on sale this fall.
