Pokémon Center’s new life-size Mimikyu plush is accurate down to its weight
A new and unique plush toy of the popular Pokémon Mimikyu has been announced by The Pokémon Company.
The new “Sonomama Mimikyu Plush Toy,” which translates to “Just As It Is Mimikyu,” is designed to be a faithful, real-world recreation of the Ghost- and Fairy-type Pokémon as it appears in the games.
The plush isn’t just a standard toy; it has been made to match Mimikyu’s official height and weight.
The plush stands at 20 centimeters tall and weighs 700 grams (approx. 1.54 lbs).
In addition to its official size and weight, the plush is a high-quality reproduction that also focuses on the material of its “disguise,” the fabric cloth that it wears to imitate a Pikachu.
The design also faithfully captures the “droop” of its cloth ears and tail.
This new plush offers fans a unique opportunity to own a 1:1 scale replica of the beloved Pokémon from the Sun & Moon series, complete with its surprising heft.
The “Sonomama Mimikyu Plush Toy” is priced at ¥5,940 (approx. $40 USD / £32 GBP).
It is scheduled to be released at all Pokémon Center retail stores across Japan on Thursday, the 23rd of October.
It will also be made available on the Pokémon Center Online store at 10:00 AM Japan Standard Time on the same day.
