Pokémon Center reveals range of new retro style wind-up Pokémon figures

The world of Pokémon is set to receive a delightful new line of collectibles with the release of a new set of wind-up figures.
The “Moving Pokemon Collection” is a new series of wind-up figures that bring the movements of various Pokémon to life.

By winding up a spring mechanism, collectors can watch as the figures recreate the unique gaits and motions of 6 different Pokémon.
This is a classic toy concept that taps into nostalgia and the simple joy of watching a mechanical figure in motion.
It follows the recent release of other exclusive collections at Pokémon Center stores that included “Cool Plush Toys” and life-size Eeveelution plushies.

The initial line-up for the collection features six different Pokémon, each with a distinct movement style:
- Oddish

Known as the “Weed Pokémon”, Oddish is a Grass/Poison-type from the Kanto region.
Its leaves are said to grow in moonlight, and during the day, it buries itself in the ground.
- Slowpoke

A classic Water/Psychic-type from the Kanto region, Slowpoke is famous for its vacant expression and incredibly slow movements.
- Natu

This Psychic/Flying-type from the Johto region is a small bird Pokémon known for its large, unblinking eyes.
It hops around on the ground because its wings are not fully developed.
- Froakie

A Water-type starter Pokémon from the Kalos region, Froakie is known for its agility and for protecting its body with a bubbly foam.
- Mimikyu

A popular Ghost/Fairy-type from the Alola region, Mimikyu is known for disguising itself as a Pikachu to make friends.
- Frigibax

A Dragon/Ice-type Pokémon from the Paldea region, Frigibax absorbs heat through its dorsal fin to create ice energy.
The figures will be sold in “blind packaging,” a common practice in the Japanese collectible market where the contents of the package are a surprise to the buyer until it is opened.

This adds an element of chance and excitement for collectors, as each purchase offers a new opportunity to get your favorite.
While the figures will be available at all physical Pokémon Center locations, a separate announcement is expected at a later date regarding their availability on the Pokémon Center Online store.
These cute retro style toys will be available from Friday, July 5th, at all official Pokémon Center retail stores for a price of 1,540 yen (approx. $10.64 USD / £7.75 GBP) each.
