Persona 6 confirmed as Atlus teases future of series

Fans of the critically acclaimed Persona series received exciting news during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, as Atlus confirmed that work on Persona 6 is underway.
While the highly anticipated Persona 4 Revival took center stage with its official reveal, a message from P-Studio Director Kazuhisa Wada revealed the future for the beloved JRPG franchise.

After the highly anticipated reveal of the Persona 4 Revival trailer, a statement from Wada was provided.
While primarily discussing the new remake, the director included a statement that will no doubt make the Persona community extremely happy:
“Additionally, we are actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series as a studio. We are working hard to meet the expectations of fans around the world, and our work is progressing well. Please stay tuned for more updates. We look forward to your continued support of the Persona series.”

Though Persona 6 was not explicitly named or shown with a title card, this direct confirmation of “future development” for the series from a key Atlus figure is the strongest indication yet that the next mainline entry is well underway.
The message makes it clear that P-Studio is not solely focused on the Persona 4 Revival but also on what comes next for the franchise.
It is not clear at what stage of development Persona 6 is under and it seems likely that it is at a pre-production stage of development based on the message.

The announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase, a platform that has seen previous Persona-related reveals such as Persona 3 Reload, further solidifies Xbox’s growing relationship with Atlus and the Persona series.
While specific details about Persona 6 remain under wraps, this significant confirmation will ignited anticipation among fans eager to see where the Persona universe will go next.

In the immediate future, Atlus revealed that Persona 4 Revival, a full remake of Persona 4 Golden will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Microsoft Store).
Persona 4 Golden originally released in 2012 as an expanded version of the 2008 PlayStation 2 title, Persona 4.

Atlus also confirmed that Persona 4 Revival will be a day one release on Xbox Game Pass.
They did not reveal the release date of Persona 4 Revival or whether the PC version will also be on Xbox Game Pass.

The debut trailer shows how the games graphics have been updated and Wada explained that as part of the update process they intend to make Persona 4 Revival a “fresh and surprising” experience for both newcomers to the series and its existing fans.
The announcement teaser trailer has now been released so fans can see the first glimpse of the upcoming remake.
