PEANUTS x Starbucks collaboration comes to Japan

Starbucks Japan will be holding their third collaboration with PEANUTS™, the comic strip known for characters such as Snoopy.
This new collaboration marks a change for Starbucks, as it will take place globally rather than in one single country like their usual collaborations.
85% of the countries where Starbucks operates will be participating in what is described as the largest simultaneous campaign in the company’s history.
The central theme of this collaboration is “Kindness”, embodied by the introduction of a new version of Snoopy: JOE KIND SNOOPY.

A range of original beverages, food items, and merchandise featuring JOE KIND SNOOPY and conveying the importance of kindness will be available at Starbucks locations worldwide.
In Japan, these items will be sold at Starbucks stores nationwide (with some exceptions) and through the Starbucks official online store, with certain merchandise items being exclusive to the Japanese market.

The theme of “Kindness” draws inspiration from moments within the PEANUTS™ comic strip where Snoopy offers silent comfort and support to his owner, Charlie Brown, and encourages others through acts of compassion.
Starbucks, similarly, emphasizes the “compassion” fostered through the coffeehouse experience, believing that small acts of kindness can contribute to a wider sense of joy and connection among customers and employees.
The “Kindness” theme is manifested in the product offerings through the introduction of JOE KIND SNOOPY, a persona of Snoopy that encourages connection through everyday acts of kindness.
JOE KIND SNOOPY will be featured on a variety of beverages and food items, including a specially themed Frappuccino®, as well as redesigned versions of existing popular items adorned with chocolate toppers featuring the character.
Let’s take a look at all of the new drinks, food and merchandise that Starbucks will be offering in Japan as part of this collaboration!
Joe Kind Snoopy Caramel Chocolate Oat Milk Frappuccino®

This Frapuccino, available in a Tall size only, will cost 707 yen (approx. $4.72 USD / £3.64 GBP) for takeaway and 720 yen (approx. $4.81 USD / £3.70 GBP) for in-store dining, tax included).
Made with oat milk and chocolate chips, layered with a caramel and chocolate sauce, the drink is topped with whipped cream, caramel chocolate sauce, green heart-shaped sugar sprinkles, and a JOE KIND SNOOPY chocolate topper.
While the Frapuccino utilizes oat milk, it does contains milk ingredients.
Joe Kind Snoopy American Waffle

A standard American waffle topped with whipped cream, caramel chocolate sauce, green heart-shaped sugar sprinkles, and a JOE KIND SNOOPY chocolate topper.
It will cost 490 yen (approx. $3.27 USD / £2.52 GBP).
Joe Kind Snoopy Sugar Donut

A standard sugar donut topped with whipped cream, caramel chocolate sauce, green heart-shaped sugar sprinkles, and a JOE KIND SNOOPY chocolate topper.
It will cost 490 yen (approx. $3.21 USD / £2.47 GBP).
All drink and food items will be available from March 25th at Starbucks stores nationwide (with some exceptions) while supplies last.
Merchandise
A total of 24 unique lifestyle goods featuring the JOE KIND SNOOPY motif will also be available.
These include tumblers, stainless steel bottles, cold cups, stacking mugs, face mugs, T-shirts, baseball caps, a tote bag, a keychain, and Starbucks Cards.
The beverage cards, mini cup gifts, the tote bag, T-shirts, and caps will be exclusive to the Japanese market.
These goods will be available for purchase through the Starbucks official online store starting March 25th while supplies last.

Starbucks Rewards
Starbucks® Rewards loyalty program members will have the opportunity for an advance purchase of the Joe Kind Snoopy Caramel Chocolate Oatmilk Frappuccino® on March 24th, through the Mobile Order & Pay feature or by presenting their QR code at the store register.

Additionally, Starbucks® Rewards members who purchase eligible PEANUTS™ products during the campaign period will receive an original smartphone wallpaper as a gift.

Starbucks® Rewards Gold members will also be entered into a drawing to win an original sticker design.

Online store sales on the first day (March 25th) will be limited to one item of each product per transaction, and sales are scheduled to begin around 6:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time, although the exact time may vary.
Due to anticipated high traffic to the online store, a waiting room system will be implemented to manage access to the purchase site.
Customers are advised not to wait on the site before 6:00 a.m., as this will not grant them priority access.
Products may become available again after initially selling out, but customers will not be notified of restocks and should check the product page for the latest inventory status.
