P-Bandai US Opens Second Pre-Order Wave for HG Gundam Barbatos Adapt

Premium Bandai US has opened another pre-order allocation for the HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatos Adapt, offering a new chance to secure the recently introduced Iron-Blooded Orphans model kit following its first scheduled order period earlier this year.

The HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatos Adapt originally shipped in Japan in May 2026, followed by a second production wave in June and a third lottery-sale shipment in August 2026.

Its first Premium Bandai US pre-order opened on February 13, 2026, with that initial allocation scheduled to ship this month, making the newly opened October batch the second opportunity for US fans to pick up the exclusive kit.

Gundam Barbatos Adapt appears in the Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 10th anniversary short film Wedge of Interposition, which takes place after Tekkadan returns to Mars following the events surrounding Arbrau’s prime ministerial election.

The mobile suit represents the heavily damaged Barbatos after the Battle of Edmonton, with Tekkadan’s mechanics repairing it as far as their limited resources allowed so it could continue operating before its eventual transformation into Gundam Barbatos Lupus.

Gundam Barbatos’ history is reflected throughout the kit’s uneven and visibly repaired appearance, with completely new exterior armor parts used to recreate its heavier proportions and patchwork construction.

The HG Gundam Barbatos Adapt also introduces several improvements to the Gundam Frame used across the Iron-Blooded Orphans High Grade line, including an additional neck joint, redesigned shoulder and abdominal structures, and a swinging hip mechanism intended to expand its articulation.

Several of the older polycap-based joints have been replaced with KPS plastic components, improving the strength and durability of key connections while helping the kit hold more demanding combat poses.

The large waist thrusters can move vertically, while the revised frame and armor construction allow the Barbatos Adapt to recreate its aggressive close-range fighting style more effectively than earlier HG Barbatos releases.

Its weapons consist of two Teiwaz-supplied swords in different sizes, with both the long sword and short sword able to mount along the outside of the waist thrusters when they are not being held.

Within the story, the swords were provided as part of an effort to gather combat data from the damaged Barbatos while it remained active on the front lines.

The HG 1/144 Gundam Barbatos Adapt is available to pre-order through Premium Bandai US for $29.00, with orders scheduled to close on September 16, 2026, at 2:59 AM EDT unless the maximum allocation is reached earlier, ahead of shipping in October 2026.
