Official hololive energy drink to go on sale in Japan

The first official energy drink of VTuber group Hololive will go on sale in Japan this April.

The initial product offering within the “HoloCharge!” brand will feature can designs showcasing exclusive illustrations of Hololive Gamers, a particularly popular and highly engaged VTuber unit within the HoloLive ecosystem, which boasts a substantial subscriber base exceeding 7.95 million followers on YouTube.

The product packaging will feature unique and specially commissioned illustrations, created to commemorate the launch of this exciting new energy drink brand.

Fans will be able to collect 4 different 250ml can designs featuring either Shirakami Fubuki, Ookami Mio, Nekomata Okayu or Inugame Korone.

This new carbonated energy drink has an invigorating orange flavor profile, and in addition to its caffeine content, “HoloCharge!” also incorporates arginine, an amino acid, and a selection of essential B vitamins, specifically V.B6 (pyridoxine), V.B2 (riboflavin), and V.B12 (cobalamin).

This formulation makes it a suitable choice for those seeking a mental clarity boost or a supplement to enhance their energy levels.

Alongside the product launch, a promotional campaign will be implemented, allowing customers to accumulate points by collecting campaign stickers affixed to the purchased cans of “HoloCharge!”.

These accumulated points can then be redeemed for limited edition merchandise featuring exclusive illustrations specifically created for this campaign.

As a special incentive for online purchases, customers who acquire “HoloCharge!” through the Cyber Goods Store will automatically receive a bonus of 3 points applicable to the campaign after their product order has been successfully shipped.

Separately, each individual can of “HoloCharge!” that is scanned by the customer will yield 1 point, which can be instantly exchanged for a variety of digital rewards, including social media icons and exclusive smartphone wallpapers featuring the Hololive Gamers.

For customers who successfully gather a total of 3 points through their purchases and can scans, an opportunity to enter a lottery will become available.

This lottery will offer the chance to win one of four distinct types of original acrylic stands, with 250 units of each design available, resulting in a total of 1000 potential prize winners.

Accumulating 5 points will further unlock another lottery entry for customers, this time providing a chance to win one of five unique original T-Shirt designs, with 20 units of each design available, leading to a total of 100 potential prize winners.

The specific steps for participating in this promotional campaign are as follows:

  1. Using a smartphone device, customers should scan the 2D code located on the campaign sticker attached to each “HoloCharge!” product can.
  2. Upon scanning the code, customers will be directed to the campaign page, where they should click the “My Page Login” button and carefully review and confirm their agreement with the provided terms of use. Subsequently, users will need to authenticate their identity using their LINE account and complete the registration process.
  3. To accrue points, customers must register the unique serial number found on the campaign sticker of their eligible “HoloCharge!” product on their personal “My Page” within the campaign platform.
  4. Once a sufficient number of points have been accumulated to redeem a desired prize, customers can proceed to select their chosen prize and submit their application through the campaign platform.
  5. For customers who have applied for the “[Win a prize in the lottery!]” and are subsequently selected as winners, the next step involves entering their accurate shipping address and registering this address for the delivery of their prize.

The official campaign application period will commence on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, at 00:00 Japan Standard Time (JST), and will continue until Thursday, July 31st, 2025, at 23:59 JST.

The “HoloCharge!” energy drink will be priced at 281 yen (including tax, approx. $1.94 USD/£1.50 GBP) and will become available for purchase starting on Tuesday, April 29TH, 2025, at a variety of retail locations across Japan.

These locations include select FamilyMart convenience stores within the Tokyo metropolitan area, Don Quijote stores, Gamers stores nationwide, Animate stores nationwide, HMV stores, the HMV&BOOKS online platform, select TSUTAYA stores in Tokyo and Osaka, the Cyber Goods Store online, and other participating retailers.
