Official Haikyuu!! New Year’s food box will set fans back nearly $200

The first-ever official “Osechi” for the popular volleyball anime series, “Haikyuu!!” has officially gone on sale.
Osechi Ryori is a traditional Japanese New Year’s food, which consists of a collection of various auspicious dishes served in a multi-tiered lacquer box called a “Jubako.”

This new collaboration brings the world of Haikyuu!! to this long-standing cultural tradition, with a deluxe, three-tiered Osechi box created in partnership with the established manufacturer, Yamafuku.

Each of the three tiers of the box is themed around a different group of high schools from the series.
The first tier is themed after the protagonist’s team, Karasuno High.

The second tier is dedicated to the rival schools from Miyagi Prefecture, including Aoba Johsai, Date Tech, and Shiratorizawa Academy.

The third tier features the various powerhouse schools that Karasuno faces at the Spring High National Tournament, such as Nekoma, Fukurōdani, Inarizaki, and Kamomedai.

The box contains a balance of Japanese, Western, and Chinese style dishes, with many of the food items themselves inspired by the characters’ favorite foods or local specialties from the regions where the schools are located.
The Osechi also includes unique items like a volleyball-shaped gummy and a “Hinagarasu” (the Karasuno crow mascot) made from nerikiri, a type of Japanese sweet.

In addition to the food, the set comes with four exclusive, non-edible bonus items.
These are a custom-designed Jubako box, a “furoshiki” wrapping cloth with a design inspired by the school banners, an acrylic panel stand, and three pairs of celebratory chopsticks with Hinagarasu-themed sleeves.

The “Haikyuu!! Osechi 2026” is a limited-quantity item priced at ¥26,400 (approx. $179 USD/£135) and can now be ordered via De Agostini Japan.
Pre-orders will be open until the 30th of November, 2025, or until the production limit is reached, with the box scheduled to be delivered on either the 30th of December, 2025, or the 2nd of January, 2026, depending on customer request.
