Official Final Fantasy XIV fragrance line adds Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus, and Venat
A second collection of fragrances based on the world of Final Fantasy XIV has been announced in a new collaboration with primaniacs.
Final Fantasy XIV is the massively popular MMORPG from Square Enix, which has captivated millions of players with its rich, sprawling, and deeply emotional storyline.
The primaniacs brand is known for creating complex perfumes based on the personalities of popular anime and game characters, with previous releases being based on series such as Demon Slayer and Persona 3.
This new lineup adds three highly-requested characters from the game: Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus, and Venat.
This second release will launch alongside a special re-sale of the entire first collection of fragrances, which featured nine popular characters.
The re-released first collection includes:
- Alphinaud Leveilleur
This scent is a clear watery note, opening with a clean blend of orange, lemon, and fresh water.
It evolves into a heart of water lily, suisen, and white plum, before settling into a warm base of sandalwood, cedarwood, amber, and musk.
- Alisaie Leveilleur
A clear floral note that runs straight ahead, this fragrance bursts open with raspberry, cassis, grapefruit, and pink pepper.
This transitions to a complex heart of marine notes, muguet, rose, magnolia, and iris, all resting on a base of musk and cedarwood.
- Y’shtola Rhul
A soft floral note, this scent opens with an intriguing blend of bergamot, leaf green, vanilla, and raspberry.
It unfolds into a floral heart of jasmine, rose, and muguet, before finishing with a deep, knowing base of musk, sandalwood, and cedarwood.
- Thancred Waters
A spicy woody note, this fragrance has a sharp opening of chypre, rosemary, and eucalyptus.
This is followed by a complex, spicy heart of galbanum, cumin, and coriander, all supported by a warm, steadfast base of amber, sandalwood, and vetiver.
- Urianger Augurelt
A woody, ambery note, this scent begins with a distant feel of lemon, bergamot, and eucalyptus.
It warms with a heart of jasmine, lavender, and clove, before settling into a deep, complex base of guaiacwood, amber, musk, and sandalwood.
- G’raha Tia
A green floral note, this scent opens with the bright, youthful energy of bergamot, mandarin, and pear.
This shifts to a cooler heart of green leaf, spearmint, and jasmine, finally resting on a clean, warm base of watery notes, cedarwood, and musk.
- Estinien Varlineau
A deep woody note, this scent opens with a cool, sharp blend of eucalyptus, leaf green, rose, and iris.
It evolves into a hot, spicy heart of magnolia, gardenia, clove, cinnamon, and ginger, before finishing on a strong, deep base of guaiacwood, vetiver, amber, and tonka beans.
- Krile Mayer Baldesion (Kururu)
A fruity floral note, this fragrance bursts open with a bright palette of pear, mandarin, cassis, peach, and passion fruit.
This colorful opening is followed by a floral heart of freesia, honeysuckle, jasmine, and rose, all resting on a warm, gentle base of musk, cedarwood, and amber.
- Tataru Taru
A milky floral note, this comforting scent opens with a soft blend of lemon, bergamot, orange, and iris.
It blossoms into a full floral heart of jasmine, muguet, lily, and gardenia, before finishing on a soft, enveloping base of cyclamen, orange flower, tuberose, and musk.
Details regarding the scent used in the new Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus, and Venat perfumes will be released closer to their release.
The primaniacs flagship store in Ginza will also be holding a special event to celebrate the launch of the new perfumes.
The event will include a display of the packaging for both the first and second collections, as well as scent samples for all the fragrances.
A special, reservation-only event titled “The Scent’s Storyteller” will also be held, where primaniacs staff will explain the stories and character development that are captured in each fragrance’s changing notes.
All fragrances are priced at 7,920 yen (approx. $51.45 USD / £39.12 GBP) each for a 30ml bottle.
The pre-order period for both the new and re-released fragrances will run from December 5 at 11:00 AM (JST) until December 21 at 8:00 PM (JST) via the “MOO:D MARK by ISETAN” online gift site.
