New transforming Gundam Sentinel model kit lets fans make two different Gundams

Pre-orders are now open for a versatile new Gunpla kit that features interchangeable parts.
The “MG 1/100 Ex-S Gundam/S Gundam (Task Force Alpha Ver.)” can be used to build the Ex-S Gundam, its predecessor the S Gundam and also the G Cruiser transformation.

This Master Grade (MG) Gunpla kit also faithfully reproduces the distinct colors of the Task Force Alpha iteration of the Gundam.
The Ex-S Gundam/S Gundam originates from “Gundam Sentinel” a popular sidestory within the Universal Century timeline of the Gundam franchise.

Originally serialized as a phot-novel in Model Graphix magazine in the late 1980s, “Gundam Sentinel” tells the story of the Earth Federation Forces fight against the rogue New Desides faction.
The S Gundam, and its enhanced form, the Ex-S Gundam, are central to this story and are known amongst fans for their advanced modular design and powerful armament.

Task Force Alpha was a special unit within the Earth Federation Forces, often associated with these cutting-edge mobile suits and crucial missions.
The “Task Force Alpha” version colors used by this new Master Grade release offers a specific aesthetic that distinguishes it from previous iterations of the S Gundam and Ex-S Gundam kits.

A significant feature of this kit is its ability to transform into the G-Cruiser mode through parts replacement, accurately replicating the mobile suit’s atmospheric flight capability as seen in “Gundam Sentinel”.

Builders also have the option to assemble the kit as either the full Ex-S Gundam or its base S Gundam form by selecting different components.
The kit also includes new parts and new water transfer decals, allowing for precise detailing and customization.

In terms of armament, the kit comes fully equipped to recreate the mobile suit’s formidable combat capabilities.
It includes a beam smart gun, which can be configured into two types (normal and rapid-fire) by selecting different barrel parts.

Two beam sabers are also included, designed to be stored within the beam saber boxes located in the knees.

The beam cannons on the thighs feature flexible axis movement for dynamic posing, while the beam cannons on the back can also be posed to fire forward using their articulated axes and ball joints.

This Premium Bandai exclusive release comes at the same time that BANDAI SPIRITS have chosen to re-release a Master Grade kit of the Gundam Mk-V, the antagonist Gundam from “Gundam Sentinel”.
The kit is now available for pre-order on Premium Bandai and is priced at 16,500 yen (approx. $113 USD £84 GBP).
Pre-orders are currently expected to start shipping to customers in July 2025.
