New Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer reveals Brie Larson’s Rosalina and Benny Safdie’s Bowser Jr.

Nintendo has officially revealed the first trailer and new cast details for the sequel to its blockbuster animated film, which was announced during a special “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct.”
The new movie is titled “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” and is once again a co-production between Nintendo and Illumination.

The first film was a massive global hit.
This sequel, as the title suggests, will take its core inspiration from the Super Mario Galaxy game series, though Nintendo stated it will include surprises for all generations of Mario fans.

During the Direct on November 12, the world’s first teaser trailer for the film was debuted.
The trailer confirms the introduction of the fan-favorite character Rosalina (Rosetta in Japan), who is a key figure in the Super Mario Galaxy games.

Nintendo announced that Rosalina will be voiced by actress Brie Larson, and the footage also revealed a new antagonist: Bowser Jr.

It was hinted that Bowser Jr. will be opposing Mario and Luigi in an attempt to restore his father, Bowser, who was shrunk by a Mini Mushroom at the end of the first film.

Bowser Jr. will be voiced by Benny Safdie.

“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States and many other countries on April 3, 2026.
The release in Japan is scheduled to follow on April 24, 2026.
