New Jujutsu Kaisen movie gives fans a chance to see the first two episodes of Season 3 early

A new, special theatrical event has been announced for the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen.

The announcement was made on Sunday, the 31st of August, during a broadcast celebrating the anime’s fifth anniversary.

The new theatrical release is a unique, two-part presentation that will bridge the gap between the second and third seasons of the anime.

The first part of the presentation will be a special, newly edited compilation of the “Shibuya Incident” arc, the massive and action-packed story that comprised the anime’s second season.

The second, and most anticipated, part of the event will be a world premiere screening of the first two episodes of the upcoming third season of the anime.

A new key visual for the theatrical event, which was newly drawn by the animation studio MAPPA, has also been released.

The third season, which is titled “Culling Game – Part 1,” is not scheduled to begin its television broadcast until January of 2026.

This theatrical event will give fans their first-ever look at the new season, including the highly anticipated confrontation between the series’ two protagonists, Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu.

A new teaser promotional video for the third season was also released.

The new footage shows a conflicted Yuji following the events of the Shibuya Incident, the appearance of the special grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu, and a depiction of their intense battle.

Other characters, such as Megumi Fushiguro and Maki Zen’in, also make an appearance.

The event, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution in North America, will also be released in theaters worldwide.

The Japanese theatrical release is scheduled for Friday, the 7th of November, 2025, whilst the North American release, which will be distributed by GKIDS Films, is scheduled for Friday, the 5th of December, 2025.

Other major announcements from the anniversary stream included the confirmation of a new anime exhibition for the series.

A teaser PV for a new, original story in the mobile game Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade titled the “Cursed Prison Island Arc” was also revealed:

Finally, it was announced that the “Juju Fes” fan event will return in the summer of 2026 to serve as the grand finale for the 5th-anniversary celebration.

The event has not been held since 2024, however fans can now look forward to its return which has been promised to be on a greater scale than ever before.
