New exclusive Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack model kit announced
A new, exclusive Gunpla kit has been announced for the official Gundam retail store, “The Gundam Base.”
The new High Grade (HG) 1/144 kit is based on the “Medd,” a mobile worker from the classic anime film, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack.
The Medd is a “Petit Mobile Suit,” a type of small, non-combatant machine used for construction and maintenance work within the Gundam series Universal Century setting.
This new model kit is a completely new sculpt, bringing a high level of detail and modern engineering to a relatively obscure, civilian design for the first time.
The kit features a number of advanced gimmicks and a high degree of articulation.
The cockpit hatch can be opened and closed, revealing a precisely detailed interior.
The shoulder joints can be pulled out to expand the model’s range of motion, and the cables on the arms are represented with flexible lead wires.
The arms themselves feature a rotating and extending gimmick, and the legs are built with numerous points of articulation.
A set of interchangeable parts is also included to display the legs in an extended state.
This release offers a unique and highly detailed model of a non-combatant machine, a rare treat for fans of the deep mechanical lore of the Universal Century timeline.
The “HG 1/144 Gundam Base Limited Medd” is priced at ¥2,200 (approx. $15 USD/£11 GBP).
It is scheduled to be released as a Gundam Base exclusive item on Saturday, the 23rd of August, 2025.
Bandai will also be releasing several other new Gunpla kits in August alongside the release of this new kit.
