New Action RPG Yuma Nest to Enter Early Access on March 11

Developer Piokou has officially announced that their open-world 2D sandbox action RPG, Yuma Nest, will launch into Early Access for PC via Steam on March 11.
The game aims to offer a novel blend of genres, combining large-scale sandbox elements with deep, interconnected dungeon exploration typically found in Metroidvania titles.

At its core, Yuma Nest challenges players to destroy massive swarms of monsters while simultaneously building automated defense and offense systems.
The gameplay centers on a progression loop where players grow stronger in the expansive overworld by completing quests, defeating bosses, and upgrading their gear.

This preparation is critical, as players then take their developed character into the interconnected underworld, a Metroidvania-style region demanding mastery and strategic planning.
The game’s progression system features extensive customization and utility.

Players can utilize Training Rooms, which are customizable and can be leveled up to optimize character growth.
Building is a key component, allowing players to construct specialized structures to aid training or set up fully automated monster-killing systems to manage the threat.

Combat is enhanced by hunting Elite Monsters, which drop unique player Enhancements that can be synergized to adapt the player’s abilities to various in-game scenarios.
Piokou will launch the game with the yo-yo weilding Psychic as the initial playable class, with plans to introduce at least one other class during the Early Access period.

Loot collected is instrumental for spending on equipment upgrades, ensuring constant power progression.
Deep exploration into the Metroidvania-style environment is rewarded by defeating powerful bosses, which, in turn, unlock new skills for the chosen class.

Beyond core mechanics, the game provides a highly personalized adventure through various quality-of-life and cosmetic features.
Players can obtain a bike mount for rapid traversal across the open world, acquire a pet that fights alongside them in combat, and customize their character with different hair and face styles.

For cosmetic enthusiasts, random cosmetic equipment is collectable via a gacha machine.
