Meet the new cast of Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A

Significant new details for the upcoming game Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A, including the reveal of several new characters, were announced during a recent “Pokémon Presents” broadcast.
A new trailer provided a deeper look at the residents of Lumiose City, the futuristic metropolis that serves as the game’s primary setting.

The new characters introduce several storylines and factions that players will interact with on their journey.
One of the newly revealed characters is Matiere, who is known as Lumiose City’s number one detective and a skilled Pokémon Trainer.

The game will feature a quest line where the player acts as her assistant, helping to solve cases for people in need.

Players will also be assisted by Momiji, the acting director of the Pokémon Research Lab.

She is researching the reasons for a sudden increase in the Pokémon population within the city and will give players research requests that yield rewards upon completion.

The game will also feature a friendly organization known as the “MZ Troupe,” which works to protect the peace of the city.

Two of its members were revealed: a student named Deuro who loves croissants and has a Staryu as his partner, and an aspiring fashion designer named Pur, whose partner is a Scraggy.

Also revealed in the trailer is a new rival character named Karasuba.

Karasuba is the boss of a group known as the “Sabi Group” and is a user of primarily Poison-type Pokémon, with a cold and intimidating presence.

He will serve as a formidable opponent in the game’s “Rank-Up Battles.”
Following the presentation, Karasuba quickly became a trending topic on the social media platform X.
The character’s design was met with a wave of positive comments from fans, and the post introducing Karasuba received a significantly higher number of likes and reposts than those for the other new characters.
Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A will be available on both the Nintendo Switch and the recently released Nintendo Switch 2.
In other news, fans have been given a first look at Dragonite’s “Mega Evolution” form, which is set to appear in the game when it releases on Thursday, the 16th of October, 2025.
