McDonald’s Japan’s annual “Tsukimi” moon-viewing menu returns for 2025

An annual autumn tradition has officially returned to McDonald’s restaurants across Japan.
Each year, McDonald’s Japan and other fast-food chains celebrate Japan’s “Tsukimi,” or “moon-viewing,” tradition by introducing special menu items that include an egg to represent the full moon.

The McDonald’s “Tsukimi Burger” has become an iconic and highly anticipated part of the autumn season.
This year, the classic “Tsukimi Burger” has been renewed with a new, creamier tomato sauce.

The lineup is also being joined by a brand-new, premium burger, the “Delicious Sukiyaki Tsukimi Burger.”
This new creation adds a savory sukiyaki filling to the classic tsukimi formula and is served on a fluffy “fuwamochi” bun.
A massive, triple-patty version of this burger will also be available during the evening “Yoru Mac” hours.

The popular “Tsukimi Pie,” a dessert pie filled with red bean paste and mochi, has also been updated this year, with the new “An-butter & Mochi Tsukimi Pie” now also including a butter filling.
