Macross Delta Anime Begins 10th Anniversary Celebrations
The official website for the Macross anime franchise has announced the launch of a 10th anniversary project dedicated to its fourth television series, Macross Delta.
A new announcement trailer for the project is currently streaming on the franchise’s official YouTube channel to commemorate the milestone.
The video concludes with a fresh illustration from Chisato Mita, the original character designer for the series.
Macross Delta originally began its Japanese broadcast on April 3, 2016, and concluded its 26 episode run on September 3, 2016.
The series follows the success of previous entries including the 1982 original series, Macross 7 from 1994, and Macross Frontier from 2008.
Since its debut, the Delta storyline has expanded through two theatrical releases, starting with the compilation film Passionate Walkure in February 2018.
The narrative reached a conclusion in October 2021 with the release of the all new feature film Macross Delta: Zettai Live!!!!!!.
The series features a prominent voice cast including Yuma Uchida as Hayate Immelmann, Minori Suzuki as Freyja Wion, and Asami Seto as Mirage Farina Jenius.
Musical performances are a central element of the show, featuring the idol group Walkure with vocals provided by cast members such as JUNNA, Kiyono Yasuno, Nao Toyama, and Nozomi Nishida.
Set on the planet Al Shahal, the story depicts the meeting between a young worker named Hayate and a stowaway named Freyja who dreams of joining the Tactical Sound Unit.
In addition to the anniversary celebration, the franchise is currently holding auditions for a new heroine in an upcoming series as of March 3, 2025.
