Lapras Takes Center Stage in Pokémon’s Latest Hotel Collab

A brand new Pokémon-themed hotel takeover will soon open its doors in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.
The special “OF HOTEL x Lapras” collaboration will transform a popular local hotel into an immersive travel resort starring the water and ice-type creature.

Lapras was officially appointed as the Miyagi Support Pokémon in July 2019 to help promote regional tourism and encourage visitors to explore coastal areas affected by previous natural disasters.

This initiative is part of the larger Pokémon Local Acts project, which utilizes popular characters to highlight regional attractions and local businesses.

The creative takeover is structured around three core pillars designed to deliver a complete travel package, offering guests specially designed accommodations, a dedicated immersive floor, and exclusive souvenirs.

The primary draw of the collaboration is a pair of highly detailed guest rooms adorned with colors and motifs reflecting the local ocean.

These calming environments are built to make visitors feel as though they are traveling across the waves alongside Lapras.

Guests booking a stay can choose between the following room options:
- Superior Fourth Room
- Price: 31,540 yen (approx. $200 USD / £158 GBP)

This spacious option accommodates up to five people and features two semi-double beds alongside a bunk bed.

- Triple Room
- Price: 25,620 yen (approx. $163 USD / £128 GBP)

This cozy layout sleeps up to four guests and provides two semi-double beds alongside a convenient sofa bed.

Visitors staying in these designated collaboration rooms will receive an exclusive merchandise bundle to commemorate their trip, which includes a clear stand, a tote bag, a traditional hand towel, a postcard, and a can badge.

One novelty package is provided per room per night, and these exclusive goods are strictly not for general sale and can only be obtained by staying in the collaboration rooms.

The entire tenth floor of the hotel will be transformed with a massive 14-meter wall art piece that depicts Lapras alongside famous regional landscapes such as Matsushima.

The artwork was created by Miyagi-born illustrator Momo Kamei, an artist known for her versatile and expansive style.

All staying guests at OF HOTEL are free to view the collaboration floor and its intricate artwork.

The hotel’s first-floor shop will offer a variety of exclusive Lapras-themed merchandise, including plush toys, stationery, and special goods created in conjunction with traditional local craftsmen.

The retail shop is open to the general public, allowing anyone to purchase the goods even if they are not staying overnight.

The special Lapras-themed hotel collaboration is scheduled to begin welcoming guests on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Reservations for the collaboration rooms can be made directly via the official OF HOTEL website.
