Silent Hill game series producer Motoi Okamoto has announced that Konami intends to dramatically increase the pace of new releases for the venerable horror franchise.

The resurgence of the series has also strengthened key development partnerships.

Silent Hill 2 Remake itself brought a classic title to a new generation of players on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

The Silent Hill horror game franchise is a long-running fixture in the genre, having first debuted in 1999.

While the main series saw a gap after the release of Silent Hill: Downpour on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and its companion spinoff Silent Hill: Book of Memories for the PlayStation Vita, the franchise has remained in the public eye with recent releases like the free-to-play short experience, Silent Hill: The Short Message, which launched on PlayStation 5.

The commitment to annual releases signals a major return to form for one of gaming’s most iconic horror properties.
