Kasane Teto Joins FuRyu’s Noodle Stopper Figure Line
FuRyu has officially announced that Kasane Teto will join their popular “Noodle Stopper Figure” series this summer.
Kasane Teto’s journey is one of the most unique stories in the Japanese internet subculture.
Originally born in 2008 as an April Fools’ prank on the 2channel message boards, Teto was presented as a “new Vocaloid” to trick unsuspecting fans.
However, the community embraced her so thoroughly that she evolved into a legitimate synthesized voice character, utilizing the voice of Mayo Koyama.
Her popularity saw a massive resurgence in 2023 with the release of Synthesizer V AI Kasane Teto by AHS, which modernized her sound for a new generation of music producers.
Based on a charming new illustration by the artist Nemari, this figure captures Teto’s mischievous personality and signature silhouette.
As part of the “Noodle Stopper” lineup, the figure is specifically weighted and posed to sit perfectly atop a cup of instant noodles to keep the steam in, though collectors often display them on the edges of desks or shelves as well.
The release of this figure comes at a time when Teto’s presence in the “Synthesizer V” scene is stronger than ever, with her tracks frequently topping digital charts alongside big names like Hatsune Miku.
Fans can expect to find the Kasane Teto Noodle Stopper Figure in game centers and hobby shops in Japan starting this July.
FuRyu prize figures are usually available internationally 1-2 months after their release in Japan, depending on licensing restrictions and availability from FuRyu’s international distributors.
