Kagurabachi Anime Adaptation Confirmed for Spring 2027

Shueisha has officially announced that Takeru Hokazono’s hit action manga series “Kagurabachi” will be receiving a television anime adaptation.

Revealed during Monday’s “Jump Press” livestream, the highly anticipated series will be animated by studio Cypic and is scheduled to make its broadcast debut in April 2027.

The gripping story follows young Chihiro Rokuhira, who spends his peaceful days training under his famous swordsmith father.

His dreams of becoming a great sword-maker are suddenly shattered when a bloody tragedy strikes their home.

Armed with a mystical blade, Chihiro embarks on a dark quest for revenge filled with epic sword battle action.

Voice actor Taihi Kimura has been officially cast to play the lead role of Chihiro.

Tetsuya Takeuchi, known for his key animation work on “Naruto”, will be directing the anime project.

Keigo Sasaki, recognized for his work on “Blue Exorcist”, has been tasked with designing the characters.

The overall anime project is being jointly produced by CyberAgent and Shochiku.

Since its debut in Weekly Shonen Jump back in September 2023, the manga has become a massive global phenomenon.

The series currently boasts over 4 million copies in circulation worldwide and previously won the print category at the Next Manga Awards 2024.

Fans around the globe will have a chance to preview the animation early through a special world tour event starting this summer.

This promotional tour will screen the first 20 minutes of the premiere episode at various anime conventions.

The tour will eventually culminate in a full episode screening in Japan in spring 2027.

English-speaking fans can read the original manga digitally through Viz Media’s Shonen Jump and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus services.

Viz Media is currently handling the physical English print run and will release the seventh volume on May 5, 2026.
