Japan’s new Slowpoke themed Pokémon Center reveals exclusive merch

The first-ever official “Pokémon Center” retail store on the island of Shikoku, “Pokémon Center Kagawa,” is set to have its grand opening.
The new store will feature a unique design, exclusive merchandise, and a variety of promotional campaigns.

The entrance to the new store will be decorated with a statue of a relaxed Pikachu and a yawning Slowpoke, and a photo spot inside will feature a special “Udon Pikachu.”

An extensive line of exclusive merchandise will be released to celebrate the grand opening, including a variety of goods that are collaborations with local, traditional Kagawa crafts.

Some of the new commemorative merchandise available from the Pokémon Center Kagawa will include:

A variety of promotional campaigns will also be held to celebrate the launch.
A lottery will be held to invite 100 groups to a special, pre-opening preview event.

A nationwide campaign will also be held at all Pokémon Centers, where customers can receive a serial code for a special Slowpoke in a Cherish Ball for their Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A game by saying “Ya~n” (Slowpoke’s cry) to the staff.

Another nationwide event, the “Pikatto Koharubiyori Ya~n Campaign,” will feature a new “Slowpoke’s Fun Fishing” mini-attraction at all Pokémon Centers, as well as a “Yucky Rainy Day” sticker giveaway.


The new “Pokémon Center Kagawa” is located at the Marugame Green shopping center in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture.
The grand opening is scheduled for next month, on Friday, the 24th of October.
