Japanese spa to offer Gundam GQuuuuuuX themed baths and exclusive merchandise
Gokurakuyu, a popular Japanese hot spring and public bath facility chain, is set to launch a special collaboration campaign with the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX.
The event is scheduled to run from June 19th to July 15th across 29 Gokurakuyu and RAKU SPA locations nationwide.
This current collaboration isn’t the first time Gokurakuyu and RAKU SPA have teamed up with an anime series. Previous anime collaborations have included Pokémon and Jujutsu Kaisen.
The Gundam franchise is a long-standing and influential Japanese media property, known for its intricate storylines and iconic mobile suits.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the latest installment in this universe, and this collaboration with Gokurakuyu offers an early, immersive experience for fans.
Under the theme “Is bathing freedom?”, the collaboration will feature special themed baths and unique in-facility decorations.
Five different “collaboration baths” will be offered throughout the period, each inspired by a character from Gundam GQuuuuuuX:
- Machu’s Bath: June 19th – June 22nd
- Nyaan’s Bath: June 26th – June 29th
- Shuji’s Bath: July 3rd – July 6th
- Challia’s Bath: July 9th – July 12th
- Xavier’s Bath: July 13th – July 15th
As well as the themed baths, guests can expect various decorations, including newly drawn illustration standees, banners, tapestries, and character introduction posters throughout the facilities.
A special “GQuuuuuuX Plus Set” will be available for an additional 1,100 yen upon entry, which includes a limited-edition muffler towel featuring new artwork.
The in-house restaurants at participating locations will serve special collaboration menus for a limited time.
Each collaboration menu item ordered will come with one of ten random coasters. Guests can also earn an additional coaster by completing a stamp rally.
Adding to the immersive experience, an exclusive in-facility broadcast featuring the voice of Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa) will play every hour.
Additionally, a range of exclusive collaboration merchandise will be on sale, including “Acrylic Character Stands,” “Red Gundam Bath” (bath salts), and “Locker Key-style Keychain Collection.”
For every 2,000 yen spent on collaboration goods in-store, customers will receive one of ten random special design Japanese paper-style stickers.
An online shop will also offer collaboration goods starting June 19 at 12:00 PM JST.
An X (formerly Twitter) campaign will also be held.
Participants who follow the Gokurakuyu/RAKU SPA official X account, post content related to the collaboration with the hashtag “#お風呂って自由ですか” (Is bathing freedom?), and show their post at the reception desk will receive an original postcard on a first-come, first-served basis.
They will also receive a lottery ticket for a chance to win collaboration decorations.
