Hatsune Miku goes for a drive in new car themed merch line
A collaboration between Hatsune Miku and one of Japan’s top car manufacturers is set to expand with a new range of merchandise.
DBC, or DAIHATSU BEST CREATE!, is an offshoot of vehicle manufacturer Daihatsu that creates themed cars and accessories based on popular characters or franchises.
Several Hatsune Miku themed vehicles have been released by DBC over the years, with the most recent, the “TAFT HATSUNE MIKU Edition”, released back in 2023.
Now, new mini-character designs of Hatsune Miku have been created, inspired by the “TAFT HATSUNE MIKU Edition”, which was the fourth collaboration car between DBC and Hatsune Miku.
These illustrations, drawn by artist Sango., depict Miku in various charming scenarios, including outings with a dog and peeking from the car window.
To accompany the new mini-character illustrations, a range of merchandise featuring the designs has been unveiled:
- Hatsune Miku Number Plate (Miku TAFT Mini-Character ver.)
- Price: ¥3,850 (tax included)
This decorative plate is designed to be displayed indoors, offering a cute enhancement to any room. It’s important to note that using this on a vehicle during operation is a violation of road transport vehicle law in Japan and many other countries where decorative plates are not allowed.
- Hatsune Miku Omamori-style Voice Charm & Sticker (Miku TAFT Mini-Character ver.)
- Price: ¥3,630 (tax included)
This set features an omamori-style charm, designed like a traditional Japanese amulet, with the theme of “Safety First.”
Pressing a button on the charm activates one of five original Hatsune Miku voice messages focused on encouragement and safety.
Voice Messages Include: “Have a great day today! Fight!” and “Don’t forget anything? Don’t forget safety checks. Now, let’s start with a smile!”

Made with a gold alloy plate, these caps are designed to decoratively cover license plate bolts, adding a touch of elegance and shine to a vehicle’s exterior.
