Hatsune Miku Gets Dedicated McDonald’s Meal Deal for Miku Day 2026

McDonald’s Japan has revealed a limited-time promotional meal celebrating the world’s most famous virtual singer.
The “Hatsune Miku Set” is scheduled to join the restaurant chain’s seasonal menu for a brief period this spring.

Hatsune Miku is a globally recognized digital pop star developed by Crypton Future Media using Vocaloid voice synthesizer technology.

The character is easily identifiable by her iconic teal twin-tail hair and futuristic cyber aesthetic.
She has amassed a massive international fanbase and frequently performs in sold-out live concerts as an animated holographic projection.

This new fast-food collaboration has been created specifically to commemorate “Miku Day” across Japan.
Fans celebrate the digital idol annually on March 9, as the numbers three and nine can be read as “mi” and “ku” in Japanese wordplay.

The date also serves as a clever pun for the English phrase “thank you,” allowing fans to express their gratitude for the virtual artist.
McDonald’s Japan frequently offers limited-edition seasonal items that draw massive crowds, and this unique collaboration is expected to be highly popular among fans of the singer.

This special meal features a combination of popular Japanese menu items rather than introducing brand new themed flavors.
Customers who order the meal will receive a Teritama Burger, a portion of Shaka Shaka Potato (Fries), and a standard drink.

The Teritama Burger is a seasonal springtime favorite in Japan that combines a pork patty coated in sweet teriyaki sauce with a fried egg.

The Shaka Shaka Potato is an interactive side dish where customers add a flavored seasoning packet to a paper bag of french fries and shake it to coat them evenly.

For this promotion, fans will be able to pick the new “Pizza Potato” flavor of Shaka Shaka Potato, which is a collaboration with Japanese snack giant Calbee.

McDonald’s Japan has explicitly stated that this promotional set consists strictly of food and beverages.

No exclusive character merchandise, collectible toys, or physical goods are included with the purchase of this meal.
This is likely due to the fact that previous collaborations that featured exclusive merchandise, such as those held with Pokémon and Chiikawa, have attracted rampant reseller activity that led to huge amounts of food waste.

The limited-time set is available starting from 790 yen (approx. $5 USD / £4 GBP).
Sales for the meal are strictly limited to specific digital purchasing methods.
Customers must use the official Mobile Order smartphone application, a Self-Order Kiosk inside the restaurant, or an official delivery service to acquire the meal.
Standard over-the-counter register orders will not be accepted for this specific promotion.
The promotional set will be available from Monday, March 9, until Thursday, March 19, 2026.
