Hatsune Miku and Gloomy Bear announce new collaboration
A new collaboration has been announced to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic and subversive character Gloomy Bear.
The new partnership is a crossover with the world-famous virtual singer Hatsune Miku.
Gloomy Bear was created by the artist Mori Chack and is famous for its unique “cute but violent” concept.
The character is a pink, seemingly cuddly bear who is often depicted attacking his human owner Pity.
This new collaboration brings together the iconic pink bear with the globally beloved virtual pop star and the other Piapro Characters.
To kick off the partnership, a new, original collaboration illustration has been revealed, which was newly drawn by Gloomy Bear’s original creator, Mori Chack.
A lineup of exclusive merchandise based on this new artwork is also scheduled to be released.
The first two products to be announced are a “Gloomy x Hatsune Miku Lip Cream Set” and a “Fuwa Fuwa FACE Pouch” capsule toy.
The company has also stated that a variety of other products and events suitable for the 25th anniversary are also currently in the planning stages.
This new project offers a unique and unexpected fusion of two very different, but equally iconic, Japanese characters.
The “Gloomy x Hatsune Miku Lip Cream Set” is scheduled to be released at select Don Quijote stores in October 2025.
The “Fuwa Fuwa FACE Pouch” capsule toy is scheduled for release in December 2025.
