Hatsune Miku and friends cool off in yukata for new summer festival themed merch line

The major anime and manga retailer Animate is set to begin sales of a new line of merchandise featuring Hatsune Miku and her fellow Virtual Singers.

The new “Summer 2025” products will feature brand-new illustrations of the six characters dressed in traditional summer yukata.

Hatsune Miku originated in 2007 as a voice synthesizer software product, but her voice and character were quickly adopted by a global community of independent creators.

This grassroots movement of producers and artists posting original songs and artwork online propelled her from a piece of software into an international cultural icon who now performs in live concerts as a virtual projection.

This new merchandise line celebrates Miku alongside the five other official Virtual Singers from Crypton Future Media: Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO, and KAITO.

The illustrations for the collection were created by two popular artists, Mochizuki Shiina and Terada Tera, each bringing their own style to the character designs.

The product lineup features a variety of items showcasing these new summer-themed visuals – let’s take a closer look at some of the items that will be available!

Character Badge Collection
- ¥440 per blind-packed badge, or ¥2,640 for a full box of six.

Acrylic Stands
- ¥1,650 each, with six different character versions available.

“Cheki” Instant Photo Prints
- ¥660 each, with six different character versions available.

Square Mini Pouch:
- ¥1,980 for a small, practical character-themed case.

In conjunction with the product launch, Animate will also be holding a store-wide promotional event.

The “Hatsune Miku 2025 SUMMER” fair will run at all Animate stores across Japan and on the Animate online store.

During the fair, customers will receive a free, exclusive sticker for every ¥1,100 spent on qualifying Hatsune Miku character goods or for each media purchase (like books, CDs, or Blu-rays).

There are twelve different sticker designs in total, and they will be given out to customers at random.

It is specified that merchandise related to the mobile game “Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku” is not eligible for this particular promotion.

The new merchandise line goes on sale, and the summer fair begins, on Saturday, the 12th of July, whilst the promotional fair is scheduled to run until the 3rd of August.

For those unable to make it to a physical Animate store, the goods will be available through the Animate online store.
