Bandai Namco Filmworks has confirmed that the next chapter of the Gundam franchise will soon be revealed, with a special presentation dedicated to an all-new anime project later this month.

Mobile Suit Gundam first debuted in 1979 and has grown into one of Japan’s most influential multimedia franchises, spanning dozens of anime series, movies, model kits, video games and novels while helping define the real robot genre for generations of fans around the world.

The announcement will take place during a special panel titled “GUNDAM Showcase 2026 – Unveil the Next Gundam,” which is scheduled to be held during San Diego Comic-Con, taking place in the United States from July 23 through July 26.

Fans unable to attend the convention in person will still be able to follow all of the newly announced anime information through an official online broadcast.

The special program will stream on the official Gundam Channel YouTube account and will present the same new anime announcements as the San Diego Comic-Con panel.

Bandai Namco Filmworks has clarified that the online program is not a live broadcast or recording of the convention panel itself, but instead a separately produced presentation covering the same announcements.
