Gundam Card Game Starter Deck launch event promo cards revealed
BANDAI is set to launch a series of nationwide release events for the first Starter Decks of the new Gundam Card Game.
Participants in these in-store events will receive exclusive commemorative gifts, including special “Strike Gundam” and “Kira Yamato” cards, alongside resource card sleeves.
The Gundam Card Game represents Bandai’s ambitious new venture to establish a unified global trading card game featuring characters and mobile suits from across the sprawling Gundam franchise.
Four new Starter Decks (ST01-ST04) have been designed as ready-to-play sets that introduce new players to the game’s mechanics and provide a foundation for building their card collections.
These release events are strategically important for building early community engagement and excitement for the Gundam Card Game.
By hosting them at stores across Japan, Bandai aims to create accessible entry points for new players and provide a social environment for existing TCG enthusiasts to discover the new game.
Event Details and Participant Rewards
- Event Period: July 12, 2025 (Saturday) – July 25, 2025 (Friday).
- Location: Scheduled to be held at participating Gundam Card Game stores across Japan.
- Participation Gifts: All participants will receive a “Link Unit Set” featuring:
- 1 x ST04-002 Strike Gundam card.
- 1 x ST04-010 Kira Yamato card.
- Commemorative Item: Attendees will also receive 10 Resource Card Sleeves.
To participate in this release events, players must apply in advance through the BANDAI TCG+ application.
Applications are currently being accepted until seven days before the event at each respective store.
BANDAI TCG+ is a dedicated mobile application developed by Bandai for its trading card game ecosystem.
This app streamlines the entire tournament and event participation process, from applying for events and accepting applications on the day of the event to registering match results, consolidating various administrative aspects into a single platform.
Release events are crucial for generating early momentum and fostering a well attended competitive scene for the new TCG.
The combination of an accessible starter deck release event and exclusive promotional cards of popular characters like the Strike Gundam and Kira Yamato are part of plans to attract Gundam fans towards the card game.
