Granblue Fantasy announces crossover with legendary anime Evangelion

A major new collaboration has been announced for the popular mobile role-playing game, Granblue Fantasy, which will be a crossover with the legendary anime franchise, Evangelion.

The announcement was made on Saturday, the 2nd of August, during the “Granblue EXTRA Fes 2025” livestream event.
This new partnership will bring the world of the hugely influential and critically acclaimed mecha series into the skies of Granblue Fantasy.
Evangelion, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, is a franchise known for its complex narrative, psychological depth, and iconic biomechanical designs.

So far, only a single teaser image has been released for the event, which shows the protagonist Shinji Ikari standing alongside the iconic Evangelion Unit-01.

The collaboration is scheduled to launch later in the year, on Wednesday, the 5th of November, 2025.
This major announcement comes just days before another high-profile collaboration is set to begin in the game.
An event with the iconic anime series Hunter x Hunter is also scheduled to launch this week.

That event, titled “AOZORA×TO×BOUKEN” (“Blue Sky x And x Adventure”), will feature a wide range of characters from the celebrated shonen series.
The main protagonists, Gon and Killua, will be available as playable characters, as will Chrollo Lucilfer, the leader of the infamous Phantom Troupe.

Other characters from the series are also set to appear, including Kurapika, and a new in-game summon stone will feature a group of four Phantom Troupe members: Nobunaga, Feitan, Machi, and Uvogin.

The back-to-back announcement of two such high-profile collaborations signals a major period of content for the long-running RPG.
The Hunter x Hunter collaboration event is scheduled to begin this week, on Thursday, the 7th of August, 2025.
