Giant Chiikawa plushies appear in Ikebukuro Station to celebrate the opening of “Chiikawa Park”

A new, temporary exhibition featuring giant plush toys of the characters from the popular “Chiikawa” franchise has opened in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro Station.
The public display is being held to commemorate the official grand opening of the new “Chiikawa Park,” an immersive attraction located within the nearby Sunshine City complex.

“Chiikawa,” which originated as a web manga by the illustrator Nagano, has grown into a cultural phenomenon.
Its stories, which blend a cute art style with relatable everyday challenges, have led to an anime adaptation and numerous high-profile merchandise collaborations.

The new “Chiikawa Park” is a two-floor attraction designed to bring the world of the manga to life.
The centerpiece of the park is an experiential exhibition on the basement floor, where visitors can walk through a series of scenes and photo spots inspired by the manga, including a recreation of the “Goblin Dungeon.”

The first floor of the park features a dedicated merchandise shop and a game corner.
The shop sells a wide range of exclusive items that are only available at the park, including special plush toys, popcorn buckets, T-shirts, and eco-bags.

The game corner offers original prize games, such as “Spider Web Catcher” and “Meatball Roller,” where visitors can win unique prizes.

To celebrate the park’s launch, the giant plush exhibition has been set up outside the ticket gates in a passageway of Ikebukuro Station known as the Azalea Road.

The display features massive plush versions of the three main characters: Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, each one the full height of the pillar on which it is mounted.

Both the “Chiikawa Park” and the giant plush exhibition officially opened on Monday, the 4th of August.

The temporary plush display is scheduled to run until Sunday, the 10th of August, 2025.
