Genshin Impact’s Luna IV Update Unveils Moon Maiden, New Adeptus, and Major Nod-Krai Confrontation

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has announced the highly anticipated Version Luna IV update, titled “Song of the Welkin Moon: Postlude – A Traveler on a Winter’s Night.”
This massive new installment brings forth a celebration of Teyvat’s New Year with the return of the fan-favorite Lantern Rite, while simultaneously driving the narrative toward a dramatic climax in the volatile region of Nod-Krai.

The update introduces two new playable 5-star characters: the Moon Maiden, Columbina, and Zibai, the White Horse Adeptus from Liyue.
Columbina Hyposelenia enters the fray as a 5-star Hydro Catalyst user, specializing in potent support centered around Lunar Reactions.

Her unique skill set allows her to coordinate Lunar Reaction DMG even when off-field.
Columbina’s special ability, Lunar Domain, significantly boosts the general damage and effects of all Lunar Reactions, including summoning thundercloud strikes for Lunar-Charged reactions and generating extra resources for Lunar-Bloom reactions.

Notably, she can convert standard Electro-Charged, Bloom, and Hydro Crystallize reactions into these enhanced Lunar Reactions, and even offers the capacity to revive a fallen teammate during the Nod-Krai adventure, allowing allies to fight side by side under the moon’s blessing.

A key addition to elemental combat is the brand-new Lunar-Crystallize reaction, which occurs when Geo meets Hydro under specific conditions.
This reaction summons three Moondrifts near enemies.

Once triggered three times, it activates Moondrift Harmony, dealing Geo DMG to nearby foes with a chance to land CRIT Hits. Zibai, the new 5-star Geo Sword wielder, is built to exploit this reaction.

Known in Liyue’s books and folktales as the White Horse Adeptus, Zibai can unleash a powerful Elemental Skill that deals Lunar-Crystallize DMG by building unique energy and entering a special state.
The frequency and damage of this skill increase substantially as more Lunar-Crystallize reactions are triggered, positioning Zibai as a dominant force on the battlefield.

The first phase of the Event Wishes will spotlight Columbina alongside a rerun of Ineffa.
The second phase will debut Zibai and Illuga, a new four-star Geo Lightkeeper who uses a polearm and battles with a messenger bird, alongside a rerun of Neuvillette.

Players seeking new cosmetics can acquire Neuvillette’s new outfit, which will be available at a temporary discount in the shop.

The main storyline, the latest Archon Quest, sees tensions in Nod-Krai reach a critical threshold.
The conflict moves toward an inevitable showdown against the formidable Fatui Harbinger, Il Dottore.

After seizing the power of the Moon Marrows for his research, he draws the Traveler and their allies into a twisted domain where the rules of reality are upended, and chaos is deliberately orchestrated.
Upon successful completion of this dramatic quest, the Traveler receives a new outfit, offering deeper insight into their personal journey and evolving understanding of elemental power.

In terms of map expansion, Nod-Krai opens up northward for the first time, revealing Piramida, the headquarters of the Lightkeepers.
This new area overlooks the western Pillar of Embla and the Kipumaki Cliff, where the lurking Wild Hunt remains a persistent threat.

A new World Quest will see players cooperating with the Lightkeepers and the new character Illuga to continue the fight against the Wild Hunt.

Back in Liyue, the highly anticipated annual Lantern Rite celebration returns, bringing a vibrant array of events, stories, and generous rewards to ring in Teyvat’s New Year.

This year’s tale unfolds under the celestial signs of Zhanzhu the Moon-Devourer, revealing how the long-reclusive White Horse Adeptus, Zibai, once more steps into the mortal world.
During the festival, players can place special Xiao Lanterns throughout Liyue Harbor, inscribe them with heartfelt wishes, collect Fortune Coins from Auspicious Treasure Trees to exchange for special gifts, and enjoy a variety of festive mini-games.

The Version Luna IV update provides a substantial lineup of free rewards for the community.
These include 1,600 Primogems delivered via in-game mail, ten Intertwined Fates from a login event, and a brand-new outfit for Yaoyao available through the Lantern Rite event.

Players will also have the invaluable chance to invite one four-star Liyue character for free.
A special horse mascot cosmetic set will also be delivered via in-game mail, with additional rewards obtainable through various events.
Beyond the free items, the Miliastra Wonderland system introduces a new Classic Mode, allowing players to invite selected characters from Teyvat to join them in stage adventures.

Players can also support the Craftspeople by purchasing the Colorful Surprise Box, which unlocks extra gameplay experiences.
