GAP unveils monster new Godzilla apparel collaboration

Global casual fashion retailer GAP has announced a surprise collaboration with one of Japan’s most iconic cultural exports, the “King of Monsters” himself, Godzilla.

Marking the first partnership between the American brand and the legendary kaiju franchise, the “GAP x Godzilla Collection” is a Japan-exclusive release that fuses GAP’s modern American style with vintage cinema aesthetics.

Since the original film’s release in 1954, Godzilla has evolved from a symbol of nuclear fear into a worldwide pop culture phenomenon.

This collection pays tribute to that long history through a series of graphic-heavy apparel designed to allow for “link coordinates” (matching outfits) between parents and children.
