Free DLC adds Muzan Kibutsuji to Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles 2 as a playable character
A new, free content update has been announced for the demon-slaying action game, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2.
The new upgrade will add the main antagonist of the series, the progenitor of all demons, Muzan Kibutsuji, to the game’s Versus Mode as a playable character.
In addition to this free update, a new, paid downloadable content pack has also been revealed.
The new DLC is the “‘Infinity Castle Arc Part 1’ Character Pass,” a bundle that will add seven new, playable characters to the game’s roster, all of whom are featured in the new theatrical film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Castle Arc Part 1: Akaza’s Return.
The seven characters included in the new Character Pass are:
- Tanjiro Kamado (Infinity Castle Arc)
- Zenitsu Agatsuma (Infinity Castle Arc)
- Giyu Tomioka (Infinity Castle Arc)
- Shinobu Kocho (Infinity Castle Arc)
- Doma
- Akaza (Infinity Castle Arc)
- Kaigaku
This new DLC will bring the Upper Rank demons Doma and Kaigaku to the game for the first time, as well as new versions of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Giyu, Shinobu, and Akaza based on their appearances in the latest story arc.
The individual character packs will also be available for purchase separately.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is the latest video game adaptation of the hit series.
It is currently on sale for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
The free upgrade that adds Muzan Kibutsuji to the game is scheduled to be released on Thursday, the 18th of September, 2025.
The release date for the paid “‘Infinity Castle Arc Part 1’ Character Pass” has not yet been announced.
