Mofusand takes over FamilyMart Japan for “Cat Day 2025”
Mofusand, created by popular Japanese artist Juno, is set to take over FamilyMart Japan as part of their “Cat Day” celebrations this February.
With other convenience store chains such as Seven Eleven also announcing “Cat Day” themed products, FamilyMart have now revealed their new “Cat Day” collaboration.
Cat Day is an event that takes placed every February 22nd in Japan. Known as “Neko no Hi” (猫の日), it is not a national holiday but it is a special day where people show their appreciation for cats.
February 22nd was chosen as Cat Day because the date is pronounced “Ni Ni Ni” in Japanese which resembles the Japanese onomatopoeia for a cat’s meow, “Nyan Nyan Nyan”.
FamilyMart will officially be transformed into Family~Nya~rt for their new Mofusand collaboration, with the name being a playful pun that combines the feline sound “Nya”.
FamilyMart and Mofusand have collaborated for Cat Day multiple times in the past, but 2025’s team up will see be the biggest yet with a total of 17 products on sale.
So, just what tasty feline themed treats are set to be available as part of the Family~Nya~rt range?
Mofusand Cat Paw Tiramisu
A classic tiramisu, featuring sponge soaked in coffee syrup, which is topped with a paw-shaped cream. There are also 3 different Mofusand label types to collect.
Mofusand Manmaruyaki
Chewy dough is filled with milk flavored cream before being branded with one of 6 cute Mofusand designs.
2 different packaging types are available and each pack comes with 1 exclusive Mofusand sticker (12 types, one provided at random).
Mofusand Mug & White Peach Jelly
Limited to 11,000 pieces, two different types of collectable mug filled with white peach flavored jelly will be available to purchase.
Mofusand Sweet Potato Cat Paw
Tasty sweet potato has been formed into the shape of a cat paw! Two different packaging designs are available to collect, one of which sees a Mofusand cat dressed as a sweet potato!
Mofusand Cafe Latte Flavor & Pudding Flavor Macaron
These cute macarons are topped with a “mofusand” illustration. Two different flavors, cafe latte and pudding, are available as well as two different packaging designs.
Mofusand Koneko Manju (Milk Bean Paste)
Cute Mofusand kitten shaped manju have been filled with sweet milk flavored bean paste.
Mofusand Cat Paw Branded Dorayaki
Made with a fluffy dough and smooth bean paste made from Hokkaido red beans, each dorayaki has a cat paw branded on the top.
Mofusand Earl Grey & Milk Melty Tea Cookies
Shaped like the face of a cat, these cookies have an incredibly melty texture and boast flavors of Earl Grey tea and milk.
Mofusand Paw Shaped Melonpan
This cat themed take on a classic Melonpan is shaped just like a paw! The melon flavored bread is filled with a smooth whipped custard.
Mofusand Nyan~chi Pack
A take on the classic “Lunch Pack” sandwich, the “Nyan~chi Pack” features caramel-flavored slices of bread made to look like a tiger striped cats fur!
The sandwich is filled with smooth and fresh caramel cream and milk whipped cream.
Mofusand Happy Nyan (Tarako Butter Flavor)
This is the first collaboration product between Kameda Seika’s “Happy Turn” and “mofusand”.
The heart-shaped paw-like dough is topped with a generous amount of irresistible cod roe butter flavored powder.
There are four different designs for the packaging, including one with the “mofusand” cat dressed in a “Turn Prince” costume, which is based on the mascot of “Happy Turn”.
Mofusand Nyanko-gumi
Each pack comes filled with 3 flavors (muscat grape, peach and pineapple) of cat face shaped gummies.
Mofusand Paw Marshmallow
With a fluffy and squishy feel, these marshmallows are just like cats paws!
Each marshmallow is filled with a strawberry jam, which is reflected in the packaging that sees Mofusand cats dressed in strawberry outfits!
Mofusand Afternoon Tea (Unsweetened)
This unsweetened iced tea is rich in aroma and has a 20% blend of Darjeeling tea leaves, which are known as the champagne of black teas.
Mofusand Banana Nya~tte
This dessert drink allows you to enjoy the sweetness of banana and milk. Each cup has an adorable cat face shaped cap.
Mofusand Mini Pouch with Charm
Two designs of mini pouch are available, each with an accompanying charm that can slot into a front pocket to create a cute scene!
Mofusand Famichiki Bag
FamilyMart’s iconic Famichiki, which has recently seen a new cheese flavored version released, will feature Mofusand themed packaging for a limited time. Five different designs will be available.
The new Mofusand range will be available at FamilyMart stores across Japan from the 18th of February, so you can stock up on your favorite items in time for Cat Day on the 22nd of February.
Some stores may have limited availability and products will likely sell out quickly each day, so you’ll need to head down to your nearest Family Nya~rt store as early as possible to avoid missing out.
