Burger King Japan unveils new “KYOTO Whopper”
Burger King Japan has announced the limited-time release of an innovative new burger, the ‘KYOTO Whopper®’, set to hit stores on November 1, 2024.
Developed in partnership with Kyoto’s renowned rice specialist, Hachidaime Gihei, this unique burger is a fusion of Japanese and American flavors.
The KYOTO Whopper® features a specially crafted rice patty, made from 2024 harvest white rice and “Kin no Ibuki” (brown rice).
The rice patty is paired with a juicy flame-grilled 100% beef patty which is then topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion.
The burger is also topped with a “dashi soy sauce” packed with the flavors of four types of dashi stock: bonito, mackerel flakes, shiitake mushrooms, and kelp.
A “special Japanese-style ginger sauce” accented with four Japanese spices: roasted chili peppers, Japanese pepper, ginger, and dried tangerine peel, is also added to create an additional depth of flavour.
How much does the “KYOTO Whopper®” burger cost at Burger King Japan?
Available as a set or a stand-alone burger, a set meal containing the burger, medium fries and medium drink will be priced at 1,290 yen (approx. $8.61 USD/£6.60 GBP) whilst the burger itself will set you back 990 yen (approx. $6.61 USD/£5.06 GBP).
