FILA teams up with CITY HUNTER for 40th anniversary sneaker collab

General sales are set to begin for a special new sneaker collaboration between the sportswear brand FILA and the legendary manga series CITY HUNTER.
The release of the “FX-2 x CITY HUNTER 40th Anniversary Model” celebrates a dual milestone, marking the 40th anniversary of both Tsukasa Hojo’s iconic manga and FILA’s “FX-2” sneaker model, which originally launched globally in 1985.

The design faithfully reproduces the details of the original 80s sneaker while incorporating elements from the series.

The side features FILA’s archival “FLAG” pattern colored in Saxe Blue and Red, evoking protagonist Ryo Saeba’s signature jacket and shirt combination.

Fans will find numerous easter eggs on the shoe, including a pattern of Kaori Makimura’s famous “100t Hammer” on the interior lining and the series’ critical “XYZ” password printed on the side of the right shoe.

The insole also features the familiar passing crow often seen in the manga’s comedic scenes.

The launch coincides with the opening of the “CITY HUNTER Grand Original Exhibition ~FOREVER, CITY HUNTER~,” which begins on the same day at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo.
To commemorate the collaboration, a lottery campaign will be held where 10 lucky purchasers can win a poster hand-signed by CITY HUNTER creator Tsukasa Hojo.

The “FX-2 x CITY HUNTER 40th Anniversary Model” is priced at 32,600 yen (approx. $211.74 USD / £161.00 GBP).
General sales are scheduled to start on Saturday, November 22, 2025, via the FILA official online store and FILA retail locations across Japan.
