Exclusive Gundam SEED FREEDOM Gunpla kits to go on sale at Gundam Base stores
Two special color Gunpla models based on the Gundam SEED FREEDOM movie will soon be on sale at Gundam Base stores in Japan.
The “HG 1/144 Infinite Justice Gundam Type-2 [Clear Color]” and “HG 1/144 Rising Freedom Gundam [Recirculation Color/Neon Yellow]” are special edition kits of Gundams from the film ‘Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM’.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, released in early 2024, is the latest cinematic installment in the popular Mobile Suit Gundam SEED continuity, which first began in 2002.
The film continued the story of iconic characters like Kira Yamato and Athrun Zala while introducing new, powerful mobile suits that quickly became popular with fans.
The Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II, piloted by Athrun Zala, and the Rising Freedom Gundam, piloted by Kira Yamato, are upgraded versions of their previous signature Gundams.
Gunpla are plastic model kits that allow fans to build detailed replicas of their favorite Gundams and mobile suits.
The “High Grade (HG)” line is one of the most popular lines as this designation indicates that the model kit will be accessible/not too difficult to build, and that it will also have a good level of detail and articulation once completed.
The “HG 1/144 Rising Freedom Gundam [Recirculation Color/Neon Yellow]” kit was previously sold exclusively available at Inazuma Rock Fes 2024 music festival.
As “event-limited” Gunpla kits are special versions sold in limited quantities at specific events, a wider release at Gundam Base stores is a welcome opportunity for collectors who may have missed out initially.

This version of Athrun Zala’s upgraded mobile suit will be molded in clear plastic.
Clear color Gunpla allow enthusiasts to see the internal structure and intricate mechanics of the model, offering a unique aesthetic that highlights the engineering of the kit itself.
This variant emphasizes the advanced technology embodied by the Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II.
The kit will be priced at 3,630 yen (approx. $25.05 USD / £18.53 GBP).
HG 1/144 Rising Freedom Gundam [Recirculation Color/Neon Yellow]
This model of Kira Yamato’s new mobile suit features a “Recirculation Color” scheme with prominent “Neon Yellow” accents.
“Recirculation Colors” are a series of special Gunpla releases that often utilize recycled “ecopla” plastics and feature vibrant, sometimes neon, color palettes to promote sustainability and offer a distinct, eye-catching appearance in comparison to regular kits.
This version provides a fresh, modern take on the Rising Freedom Gundam’s design.
It will be priced at 2,970 yen (approx. $20.49 USD / £15.15 GBP).
Both Gunpla kits will be available at Gundam Base stores starting from June 28th, 2025, and will be available until stock sells out.
