Evangelion Teams Up with BLITZWAY to Create the Definitive Unit-01 Figure

Korean collectible manufacturer BLITZWAY has officially revealed the first release in its brand-new CARBOTIX action figure line, with Evangelion Unit-01 from Rebuild of Evangelion leading the debut range.
Designed as a premium die-cast action figure series, CARBOTIX combines intricate engineering, extensive articulation and display-quality sculpting to bring iconic mecha to life with a focus on realism and mechanical detail.

The inaugural release is based on Evangelion Unit-01 from the Rebuild of Evangelion films, reimagining the iconic biomechanical giant with additional functional details inspired by how the machine might appear if it existed in the real world.

Standing approximately 33 cm tall, the figure faithfully recreates Unit-01’s towering proportions while enhancing its distinctive restraint armor with extra mechanical detail throughout the body.

Its signature purple and neon green armor has been finished with glossy paint applications and precise printed markings that closely match its on-screen appearance.

The bright green armor sections also react under ultraviolet light, producing an impressive fluorescent glow that further enhances the display piece.

A substantial internal frame made from precision die-cast components gives the figure a premium weight of approximately 460 grams while also improving stability and durability.

Ratchet joints throughout the body allow Unit-01 to achieve a wide range of expressive poses, including running, kneeling, jumping and combat stances without sacrificing joint strength.

Collectors can also recreate the Evangelion’s feral berserk appearance thanks to an articulated jaw mechanism that dramatically changes the figure’s expression.

An integrated LED lighting feature illuminates Unit-01’s eyes with a vivid yellow glow, activated using a magnet-operated switch cleverly disguised as the removable Entry Plug.

The Standard Edition includes numerous interchangeable hands together with a Pallet Rifle, two Progressive Knives, the Spear of Cassius, an Entry Plug, Entry Plug extraction tweezers, an Umbilical Cable and a Restraint/Mobile Launch Platform.

Opening the armor on Unit-01’s back allows the Entry Plug to be inserted just as it is in the films, while the included launch platform and Umbilical Cable recreate the Evangelion’s charging state prior to deployment.

Collectors seeking an even more elaborate display can opt for the DX Edition, which adds a massive Hangar accessory filled with intricate internal and external mechanical detailing.

The front section of the Hangar securely houses Unit-01, while a miniature Gendo Ikari figure can be seen inside the command tower overlooking the launch bay.

At the rear of the Hangar, dedicated storage compartments neatly organize the included weapons and accessories behind functional folding hatch mechanisms, transforming the display into a complete maintenance facility inspired by the films.

The launch of CARBOTIX signals BLITZWAY’s ambition to establish a new flagship mecha line that combines collectible presentation with engineering-focused play features, and Evangelion Unit-01 provides a strong showcase for the series’ potential.

The CARBOTIX Evangelion Unit-01 Standard Edition is priced at ¥36,300 (approx. $245 USD / £180 GBP), while the DX Edition with Hangar is priced at ¥58,300 (approx. $395 USD / £290 GBP).

Both editions are scheduled for release in March 2027, with pre-orders set to open shortly via the official BLITZWAY online store and potentially through reputable hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
