Dragon Ball Super Completely Rebuilds Beerus for First New Release in 10 Years
Bandai has revealed Beerus’s first completely new S.H.Figuarts figure in more than a decade, rebuilding the God of Destruction with updated sculpting, articulation and new display options.
“S.H.Figuarts God of Destruction Beerus
The new anime is an enhanced reconstruction of Dragon Ball Super’s opening storyline, returning to Beerus’s awakening and his search for the mysterious Super Saiyan God with extensive redrawn footage, additional scenes and reworked battles.
“Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” was first announced in January 2026 as a major overhaul of the original 2015 anime, before beginning its new television run earlier this month.
Beerus originally joined S.H.Figuarts in March 2016, with Bandai later bringing that figure back as an Event Exclusive Color Edition in 2021, but the new “The God of Destruction Awakens” version is the first completely new sculpt of the character in the line for more than 10 years.
Rather than updating the earlier figure with minor changes, Bandai has created new sculpting and articulation for the latest version, including its Dynamic-Movable Shoulder System to give Beerus considerably more freedom around the upper body.
The shoulder mechanism has become increasingly common across Bandai’s latest Dragon Ball S.H.Figuarts releases, including the recent Yardrat Goku, where it similarly allows more demanding fighting poses without pulling the shoulders too far away from the natural shape of the body.
Bandai has also changed the sculpting of Beerus’s ears depending on the expression being used, with the normal faces giving them a more relaxed position and the battle expression angling them differently to create a greater sense of movement.
A separate flowing sash part complements those changes, allowing the figure to shift between Beerus’s calmer appearance and more energetic battle poses.
Standing 14.5cm tall, the PVC and ABS figure also includes four pairs of interchangeable hands and three additional facial expressions, providing options for both relaxed scenes and the confrontations that follow Beerus’s arrival on Earth.
Bandai has also included bonus parts designed specifically for the separately sold “S.H.Figuarts Super Saiyan God Son Goku
That Goku figure was one of two completely new Dragon Ball Super S.H.Figuarts announced in late 2025, and uses the same newer generation of articulation technology now being applied to Beerus.
Together, the two figures allow collectors to recreate the central confrontation from the opening Dragon Ball Super storyline as the newly enhanced anime once again builds toward Goku’s battle with the God of Destruction.
