Demon Slayer gets an awesome new range of handcrafted Japanese barrel mugs

DEMON SLAYER BARREL MUG MAIN

A new line of officially licensed, handcrafted wooden barrel mugs inspired by the popular anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been released.

The new mugs are created by the workshop URAKITA Kobo.

URAKITA Kobo is a unique company that began as a bar in Tokyo’s Shimokitazawa district and, driven by a passion to create better drinking vessels, evolved into a producer of patented wooden mugs.

Each barrel mug is handcrafted in Japan from domestic wood, using traditional joinery techniques without any metal parts, and is finished with a food-safe coating.

This new collection features a variety of designs and sizes inspired by the series.

The mugs are available in three different capacities: a 200ml version, a 380ml version, and a large 800ml version.

Let’s take a look at all of the mugs that make up the collection!

  • 200ml Barrel Mug (Wisteria Crest or Metsu design): ¥5,800 (plus tax)

The 200ml and 380ml mugs are available with one of two different engraved designs on the front.

One design features the “Wisteria Flower Family Crest,” while the other features the “Metsu” (“Destroy”) kanji character from the Demon Slayer Corps uniforms.

Unlike the other sizes, the 200ml barrel mug does not include a handle as due to its size it easily fits the palm.

  • 380ml Barrel Mug (Wisteria Crest or Metsu design): ¥10,800 (plus tax)

  • 800ml Barrel Mug (“Metsu” design with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, or Inosuke-themed hoops): ¥21,800 (plus tax)

The large, 800ml mug features the “Metsu” engraving and also includes a choice of four different patterns on the “tagatai,” or barrel hoops.

Each of these four patterns is inspired by the clothing of one of the main characters.

The mugs are designed to be extremely lightweight and have good insulation properties, making them suitable for both hot and cold drinks up to 70°C.

The new collection is now on sale, exclusively through the official URAKITA Kobo direct sales website.
