Code Geass announces year-long 20th anniversary celebrations including live fan event
A new, large-scale project has been launched to celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary of the iconic anime franchise, Code Geass.
The new initiative, titled “Road to CODE GEASS 20th Year,” will feature a variety of different events and promotions in the lead-up to the anniversary in 2026.
The celebration plans were announced on Monday, the 6th of October.
The first part of the project is a special, in-person event, the “Code Geass Project ‘To 20th’ Event.”
This will be a talk show featuring the voice of the original protagonist, Lelouch, Fukuyama Jun, as well as the two lead voice actors from the new series, Roze of the Recapture, Kōhei Amasaki (Roze) and Makoto Furukawa (Ash).
The event will include a new dramatic reading and the announcement of new information for the franchise.
The second part of the celebration is a massive, nationwide theatrical revival screening of the entire franchise.
The “Code Geass 20th Anniversary Reprint Screening” will be a sequential, bi-weekly re-release of all thirteen of the theatrical films from the series’ history.
This includes the three Lelouch of the Rebellion compilation films, all five chapters of Akito the Exiled, the movie Lelouch of the Re;surrection, and all four acts of the new Roze of the Recapture series.
A new key visual for the screenings has been released, and a special, limited-edition set of all thirteen “MoviTicke” advance tickets will be sold.
In addition, 13 types of “original illustration square cards” will be available as a special gift for attendees, with designs corresponding to the film they have seen.
A sequel to the stage musical, “Musical Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Knight on the Righteous Path,” has also been announced for a January 2026 run.
The original, 50-episode television series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, will also be streamed for free on the official Code Geass YouTube channel, with two new episodes being released each weekend.
The “Project ‘To 20th'” in-person event is scheduled for Sunday, the 7th of December, at the Bellesalle Shinjuku Grand in Tokyo.
The revival screening series is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, the 6th of January, 2026, and will run until June of 2026 at a large number of theaters across Japan.
