Channing Tatum joins new Demon Slayer movie’s English dub cast

The anime streaming service Crunchyroll has revealed a high-profile addition to the English dub cast for the new film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Arc Part 1: Akaza’s Return.
The announcement, made on Monday, the 11th of August, revealed that the American actor Channing Tatum will be part of the film’s voice cast.
Tatum, known for his roles in major Hollywood films like Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street, will be voicing the character Keizo.

He is joined by Rebecca Wang, who will be voicing the character Koyuki.

These two characters are central figures in the emotional backstory of the powerful antagonist, Akaza, the Upper Rank Three demon who is a key focus of the new film.

This casting of a major Hollywood star in an anime dub is a significant event, showing the power of the franchise’s immense mainstream popularity in North America.
The announcement comes as the film continues its record-shattering theatrical run in Japan.
After just seventeen days in theaters, the movie has already earned over 17.6 billion yen, or approximately $119.3 million USD, and has become the 10th highest-grossing film of all time in Japan.

The English-dubbed version of the film will see the return of the main voice cast, including Zach Aguilar as Tanjiro Kamado and Lucien Dodge as Akaza.
The film will be distributed in theaters across the United States and Canada by Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Aniplex.

It will be available in both the original Japanese with English subtitles and in the new English dub, with screenings also planned for IMAX and other premium large-screen formats.
The North American theatrical release of the film is scheduled for Friday, the 12th of September.
