Capcom announces a complete collection of all seven Mega Man Star Force games
A new collection of the classic Mega Man Star Force series, known in Japan as Ryūsei no Rockman, has been officially announced by Capcom.
The new title was revealed during a Nintendo Direct presentation held on the 12th of September.
The Mega Man Star Force series is a beloved set of action role-playing games that were originally released for the Nintendo DS, and it served as a follow-up to the popular Mega Man Battle Network franchise.
This new release, the “Mega Man Star Force: Perfect Collection,” is a comprehensive anthology that bundles all seven titles from the original trilogy into a single package.
The full list of included games is as follows:
- Mega Man Star Force: Pegasus
- Mega Man Star Force: Leo
- Mega Man Star Force: Dragon
- Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker × Saurian
- Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker × Ninja
- Mega Man Star Force 3: Black Ace
- Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker
In addition to the original games, the collection will also include a number of new features.
A gallery mode will be included, which will allow players to view illustrations and listen to the game’s background music.
Most significantly, new online functionality has been added, which will allow players to battle and trade with others online.
The world’s first-ever playable demo of the new collection will be available at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2025.
The demo, which will be at the Capcom booth, will allow visitors to play the opening sections of the original three games, and all participants will receive a free, original clear file as a gift.
This was just one of a number of major announcements made during the presentation.
A major double announcement was also made for the Super Mario franchise, with a new animated film, “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” confirmed for an April 2026 release, and a new Nintendo Switch game, “Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2,” announced for an October 2nd release.
A brand-new Pokémon life simulation game, Pokémon Pokopia, was also revealed for a Spring 2026 release.
In one of the most surprising reveals, Nintendo’s infamous 1995 console, the Virtual Boy, is being revived for the Nintendo Switch Online service, and will require a new, replica headset peripheral.
Other announcements included a new, real-life “Talking Flower” from Super Mario Bros. Wonder and a set of interactive amiibo for the upcoming Kirby’s Air Rider.
The “Mega Man Star Force: Perfect Collection” has been announced for the PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch and is scheduled to be released in 2026.
