Busted’s James Bourne sings Sonic Racing Cross Worlds opening theme

SEGA has unveiled the opening theme song for their upcoming game, Sonic Racing Cross Worlds, featuring a performance by James Bourne, a member of the popular British band Busted.
The track, titled “Sonic Racing – Cross the Worlds – (Opening ver.)”, aims to set an energetic tone for the new racing title.

Bourne’s involvement brings his distinct vocal style to the Sonic universe, a franchise known for its dynamic music.

The music for the theme was composed by Takahiro Kai, with James Bourne also contributing the lyrics.

Rap lyrics were penned by Chez and Yuki Kanesaka, adding another layer to the track’s sound.

The music was arranged by Masashi Tsubakimoto and Yoshiya Ikeda, and Jun Senoue served as the Sound Producer, a name familiar to Sonic fans for his extensive work on the series’ soundtracks.

Sonic Racing Cross Worlds continues the tradition of SEGA’s racing series, starring iconic characters like Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, Silver, and Dr. Eggman.

Players will pilot unique racing machines through a variety of vibrant and diverse tracks, including futuristic stadiums, neon-lit tunnels, deserts, underwater environments, casino-themed cities, and volcanic landscapes.

The gameplay will involve utilizing various power-ups and special abilities to secure victory.

Sonic Racing Cross Worlds is scheduled to launch on Thursday, September 25th, 2025.
The game is set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store).
