Tamagotchi fans can soon make their very own, less demanding, version of the iconic virtual pet.

Kawada, a Japanese toy manufacturer, will release Nanoblock versions of the original Tamagotchi virtual pet devices, which may come as a welcome break for owners who often forget to look after their actual Tamagotchi.

The Tamagotchi, a digital pet that debuted in 1996, sparked a global craze, challenging users to care for a virtual creature through a small, egg-shaped handheld device.

Tamagotchi has had a resurgence in popularity in recent years, with Bandai Namco heavily investing in new products such as the recently announced Tamagotchi Paradise, which is set to offer a new take on the popular virtual pet when it launches this July.

Nanoblock, known for its miniature building block systems, allows for intricate and detailed creations, making it a fitting medium to recreate the iconic design of the Tamagotchi.

These new Nanoblock kits aim to recreate the appearance of the first-generation Tamagotchi.

Each package offers customization options for the LCD screen area through included stickers, letting builders choose their preferred virtual pet display.

Beyond the device itself, the kits also include additional small builds: the “Original Tamagotchi (White)” set allows for the creation of a “Babytchi” figure (one of the Tamagotchi’s early forms), while the “Original Tamagotchi (Blue)” set includes pieces to construct a “Tamagotchi Egg.”

Both models share compact dimensions, measuring approximately 41mm wide, 58mm high, and 23mm deep when assembled.

The white version contains 200 pieces, and the blue version includes 220 pieces.

The “Original Tamagotchi (White)” and “Original Tamagotchi (Blue)” Nanoblock sets will be available for purchase starting July 12th from a wide range of hobby goods retailers.
