BOSS Coffee x Uma Musume collab returns for 2025 with exclusive merch

BOSS Coffee and “Uma Musume Pretty Derby” are set to team up to offer fans the chance to get their hands on exclusive goods.
A collaboration between the coffee brand and popular game/anime series has taken place annually for the past few years, and this year’s collab will offer fans a chance to win jackets, t-shirts, watches and more.
BOSS Coffee is known for frequent collaborations with anime and game series, including recent collaborations that have seen them release cans themed around Pokémon cards and Team Rocket.

“Uma Musume Pretty Derby” is a highly successful mobile game that anthropomorphizes famous Japanese racehorses as “horse girls” (Uma Musume).
Players take on the role of a trainer at a prestigious racing academy, guiding their chosen Uma Musume through training regimens and races with the ultimate goal of winning the Twinkle Series.

The game has a massive following in Japan and beyond for its engaging gameplay, charming characters, and its unique blend of sports simulation and idol management elements.
The previous collaboration with “BOSS” coffee in 2024 proved to be a significant hit, combining the widespread appeal of both brands.
This year’s collaboration will see the rebranding of five of “BOSS” coffee’s main product lines as “Uma Musume Collaboration Cans” from Monday, June 3rd.

These include the famous “Boss Rainbow Mountain Blend”, “Boss Luxury Lightly Sweetened”, “Boss Unsweetened Black”, “Boss Cafe au Lait,” and “Premium Boss” coffees.
Each of these cans will feature medal-style designs showcasing various popular Uma Musume characters on their sides, making them collectible items for fans of the game.
In addition to the new packaging, two of the “BOSS” coffee varieties will also undergo flavor enhancements for this collaboration.

The “Boss Rainbow Mountain Blend” coffee will feature a blend of specially roasted beans designed to enhance its rich and full-bodied coffee flavor.
The “Boss Luxury Lightly Sweetened” will be re-worked as a limited-edition blend that aims to maintain its well-balanced coffee and milk profile while improving drinkability.
A “BOSS” x “Uma Musume Pretty Derby” lottery campaign will also be launched where customers who purchase a six-pack of the collaboration cans can enter a lottery to win exclusive prizes.

The A Prize is a “Grand Prix Boss Jacket” adorned with a celebratory victory sash.

This prize will be limited to 30 winners and features a new design for the 2025 collaboration.
Jackets from previous collaborations saw a leather jacket theme in 2024 and red colored jackets in 2023 and 2022.

The B Prize offers 500 lucky participants a set of five “BOSS Original Uma Musume Collaboration T-shirts” with each one featuring a different Uma Musume medal-design on the front and back.

Those who don’t win any of the main prizes will receive a limited-edition collaboration recovery item that can be used within the “Uma Musume Pretty Derby” game.
This in-game item will feature a special “BOSS” canned coffee design, making it a unique and sought-after virtual collectible.

The lottery campaign will run from June 2nd to September 1st, 2025.
In addition to the lottery, an “Instant Win Campaign” will also be held from June 2nd to August 31st, 2025.
Participants can enter this campaign by scanning a QR code attached to eligible “BOSS” products for a chance to instantly win a variety of collaboration goods.
A large number of participants will also win points that can be redeemed on the popular Japanese mobile payment service PayPay.

The “Uma Musume collaboration goods” up for grabs via the Instant Win campaign include:
- Uma Musume Watch (10 different designs): 100 winners for each design (1,000 winners total).
- Uma Musume Tote Bag: 250 winners.
