Become the Red Comet with COSPA’s new Char Aznable eye mask

Character apparel and goods company COSPA has announced a new piece of merchandise based on Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX.
The new product is an eye mask designed to look like the iconic visor worn by the legendary character, Char Aznable.

Char Aznable is one of the most famous characters in the entire Gundam franchise, the primary rival to the protagonist Amuro Ray in the original 1979 series, known for his “Red Comet” moniker and his masked appearance.

The Gundam GQuuuuuuX anime, which recently finished its broadcast run, brought the iconic character back into the spotlight and this new eye mask from COSPA allows fans to replicate his signature look.

The front of the mask is printed with a design that mimics the visor of Char’s helmet.
The back of the mask, which rests against the face, is made of a soft pile fabric for a comfortable feel.

It includes a low-rebound urethane nose cushion designed to fit snugly and block out light from the gaps around the nose.
An adjustable elastic band with a hook-and-loop fastener is used to ensure a comfortable, stress-free fit.
The item is perfect for use during travel on planes or trains, allowing fans to incorporate one of their favorite series and characters in a practical fashion.

The “Char Aznable Eye Mask” is priced at ¥1,540 (approx. $10.30 USD/£7.70 GBP) and it will first be made available through an advance sale at the upcoming Comic Market 106 convention.
The advance sale will take place at the BBshop booth in the Tokyo Big Sight venue on Saturday, the 16th of August, and Sunday, the 17th of August, 2025.

Following the event, a general release of the product is scheduled for late October 2025.
Pre-orders for the general release are currently open at COSPA’s official online shop and other hobby goods retailers, with the initial reservation window running until Monday, the 11th of August, 2025.
COSPA also produces a number of other Gundam-themed products and recently revealed a new hoodie inspired by the Zaku II mobile suit.
