Bandai Spirits has officially released a new high-end action figure portraying one of the most famous mobile suits in anime history.

The METAL ROBOT Spirits <SIDE MS> Nu Gundam is now available, bringing Amuro Ray’s final machine from the theatrical film Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack to the company’s die-cast figure line.

Released in 1988, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack depicts the final confrontation between the Earth Federation hero Amuro Ray and his rival Char Aznable, who leads the Neo Zeon movement.

The Nu Gundam serves as the protagonist’s dedicated machine, designed by Amuro himself and equipped with the Psycho-Frame system to counter Char’s Sazabi.

This release will pair perfectly with the METAL ROBOT Spirits Sazabi, which was also announced earlier this week, allowing collectors to display the two legendary rival units side-by-side.

This figure faithfully reproduces the mobile suit’s classic tricolor scheme and its distinctive asymmetrical silhouette created by the Fin Funnels equipped on its back.

A key feature of this release is the extensive use of die-cast metal parts centered around the joints.

This construction choice ensures that the figure maintains stability even when equipped with the heavy, off-balance Fin Funnels, allowing for secure posing without the figure tipping over.

The attention to detail extends to areas often hidden, such as the intricate molding on the soles of the feet and the mechanical plating inside the shield.

In addition to the standard equipment, the set includes a wide variety of effect parts designed to replicate memorable scenes from the movie.

The Fin Funnels can be detached and displayed in a deployed “firing” state using dedicated joints and propulsion effect parts included in the box.

The Nu Hyper Bazooka can be held in hand or mounted to the backpack’s center hardpoint for storage.

The beam saber comes with standard blades as well as two types of specialized high-output blades that simulate the erratic beam movement seen in the animation.
