Bandai Reveals Massive New Gundam Advance of Z Premium Figure Set

Bandai has officially opened pre-orders for a brand-new premium figure set based on the upgraded forms of Advance of Zeta’s Gundam TR-1 [Hazel], bringing together a number of previous releases to create the “METAL ROBOT Spirits Gundam TR-1 [Hazel-Rah] Second Form”.

The set is built around one of the most heavily equipped configurations developed from the experimental mobile suit during Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans.

The Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam side story follows the Titans Test Team and the experimental machines developed through the TR Project, charting a range of prototype equipment and mobile suits connected with the controversial Titans organization.

The original Gundam TR-1 [Hazel] was created as a test machine for the Titans before battle damage resulted in it being rebuilt and upgraded as the Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Custom].

That platform went on to support a large number of equipment trials, with the Hazel-Rah Second Form created by combining the Hazel Custom with two FF-X29A G-Parts [Hrududu] support units.

The Hrududu units take inspiration from the original Gundam’s G-Fighter concept and can be rearranged with the Hazel in several different ways, forming the basis for many of the configurations recreated by the new figure set.

The METAL ROBOT Spirits Gundam TR-1 [Hazel-Rah] Second Form effectively combines the contents of the previously released Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Custom] & Option Parts Set and G-Parts [Hrududu] & Advanced Parts Set into a single package.

Bandai has also revised parts of the earlier releases, with adjustments made to the die-cast content and both Hrududu units now receiving full painted finishes rather than relying on molded colors.

Tampo-printed markings cover the Hazel and its equipment, complementing the metallic finish and metal components used throughout the METAL ROBOT Spirits construction.

With all of the equipment from the two earlier sets included together, collectors can recreate more than a dozen configurations covering different stages of the Hazel’s development.

Those options include Sniper Equipment, Advanced Equipment, High Mobility Equipment, Original Mode, Sub-Arm Equipment, Hazel-Rah, Hazel-Rah Full Armor and the complete Hazel-Rah Second Form, while the Hrududu units can also be combined with one another separately.

Three Shield Boosters are included alongside the standard shield, opening up several of the Hazel’s larger equipment layouts without requiring parts from another release.

The weapon selection adds a Beam Rifle, three Beam Sabers, left and right shoulder Grenade Launchers and Folding Grips, alongside a Sub-Arm Unit and Multi-Weapon Latch for further customization.

Two types of High-Performance Optical Sensor Unit and a pair of auxiliary foot thruster units are also supplied for the more advanced forms, with the necessary joint parts included for changing between configurations.

A dedicated display stand completes the package and provides support for the larger combinations created when both Hrududu units and the Hazel’s additional equipment are installed.

For collectors who previously needed to purchase the Hazel Custom and Hrududu releases separately, the new set brings almost the entire upgrade system together while also improving the finish of several major components.

The METAL ROBOT Spirits Gundam TR-1 [Hazel-Rah] Second Form is priced at ¥29,700 (approx. $187 USD / £137 GBP), with orders opening through Premium Bandai Japan on August 21.

The figure is scheduled to begin shipping in January 2027, and though a Premium Bandai US release has not yet been announced, the start of US pre-orders is likely to be just a matter of days away.
